"A word is a tool and a weapon.
Silence is words without letters.
Where does the hear t gravi ta te, where the mind and where the body?
How far will they go?
How far do we dare to go?"
Gothic Windows, a cycle of eight poems from the collection Tongue of Soil by Dane Zajc, isperformed in the form of a dramatic dialoguefor the first time. If the word is the sound or the image of a thought, then poetry is the music of the soul and Gothic Windows a metaphysical language, a game of dominance between two, playing through the sensory, dream, imaginary images, illusion of existence on a parallel, metaphysical level, their secret world and love haven.
Dane Zajc’s words resonate like a secret coded language of two lovers with which they smear their eyes during their foreplay. The sweetness of the words sometimes stings like salt in an open wound, and sometimes trembles fully in the hope of the unresolved.
Performances prepared by Senzorium reach beyond the seen and heard. In their interactive performances the poetic expressiveness spreads toother senses and touches individuals on a deeper, more intimate and personal level.
"It seems that precisely the introduction of the five senses should return poetry to poetry, or replace the thing it lost by being transformed into the text for performance, as it opens the five conceptual fields in which we can, in different ways, approach the text, or better, to approach what happens inside the text."
